Cairns’ Tropical Reef Shipyard (TRS) work with the Royal Navy makes news with AustralianDefence.com
“In June 2023 TRS completed a package of work on the Royal Navy (RN) River class Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) HMS Spey, which alongside HMS Tamar, is forward deployed to the Indo-Pacific region.”
Since the early 2000s TRS has structured a skilled workforce and the supporting infrastructure to support the maintenance of the Hydrographic force and most recently, the Arafura class. To continue to utilise their investment in the 3000 tonne, 110m capacity slipway, TRS will look to work with United States Navy (USN), United States Coast Guard (USCG) and French Armed Forces in New Caledonia (FANC).
